As you know, McCain has recently suggested the complete cut of gas taxes from the market in all the USA... But the sceptics say that it won't effect our economy very much, making it not worth of applying and keep on the process of adaptation of a new economical concept which keep the recovery on sight as the main objective...
Personally, I also don't believe that there will be a major recover thanks to this action of removing gas taxes but I am sure that it will be able to help our economy recover a month or two faster. Let's just wait and see!
